Career Start

A British Triathlon Athlete who shot to fame after qualifying for the 2020 ITU World Triathlon Championships in Canada.

Before June 2018, Charlotte had never ridden a road bike and hadn’t been in a pool for over 12 months. In July 2018, she brought a second-hand road bike to take on her brother – nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry.

September 2018 she raced in her first sprint distance triathlon with no gear and absolutely no idea. She came in 3rd – completely unexpected and had to rush back to make the podium. Interrupting her family lunch.

Shortly after she was approached by Sam Mountain from Amphibian Triathlon Coaching and from January 2019 was taken under his wing where she commenced structured training.

May 2019 she came 3rd in her first ever Standard Distance (Olympic) Triathlon at Southport and the National Triathlon Championships meaning she automatically qualified for the 2020 European Triathlon Championships being held in Tartu, Estonia (AG 25-29).

Shortly after, in her third ever triathlon (regardless of distance) she automatically qualified for the 2020 ITU World Triathlon Championships being held in Edmonton, Canada (AG 25-29).

Numerous sporting achievements within the past 12 months whilst having a busy personal life and holding down a full-time professional career as a Rural Land Agent – The Quiet Life is overrated!

Charlotte is hoping for further sporting achievements in 2020 and to refine her time-management skills; the ever-growing challenge of the ‘Age-Grouper’.

She mastered the art of the handbrake turn by the age of 13 and spent the following few years gaining invaluable experience by entering club rally events across the UK, doing everything from driving alongside her father (who was on co-pilot duties) to testing with a professional rally team when she was 17.

Before long Catie had an international license and she made her European Rally Championship debut in 2016 at the Ypres Rally behind the wheel of a Peugeot 208 VTi R2 for Saintéloc Junior Team. That same year, at the age of 18, Catie won the FIA European Rally Championship Ladies trophy.
